This May, Sounders FC is excited to once again celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month! Join us as we intentionally invest in and celebrate the community by amplifying the voices of local experts, supporting AANHPI-owned small businesses and more this month.
Our celebrations will culminate in our second Bruce Lee Match on May 29!
Support AANHPI-owned Small Businesses
We kick off the month with National Small Business Week (NSBW), running from April 28 to May 4. We are excited to partner with Intentionalist and celebrate our local small businesses by working to AMPLIFY Mam’s Books. Fans who go to the Chinatown-International District bookstore during NSBW can enjoy a special promotional offer of receiving $10 off a purchase of $15 or more!
We are also continuing to partner with Intentionalist on this month's Receipt and Receive campaign, as well as the showcasing of AANHPI-owned businesses on matchday. Through Receipt and Receive, we encourage our fans to #SpendItLikeItMatters at AANHPI-owned small businesses. By uploading your receipt from an AANHPI-owned business this month, you will be entered to win prizes from Sounders FC, Intentionalist and other local professional sports teams!
On matchdays in May, we are featuring AANHPI-owned businesses through our food trucks in the North Plaza, and pop-up kiosks outside Section 113.
We encourage fans to support our featured AANHPI-owned food vendors on matchday and upload receipts from qualifying purchases to help us achieve our goal of spending $35,000 at AANHPI-owned businesses in May.
One Seattle Day of Service
In partnership with the City of Seattle, we are excited to return for the third annual One Seattle Day of Service! On Saturday, May 18, we will be working alongside our community to beautify the streets around our home at Lumen Field by hosting street beautification events in Pioneer Square and SODO. Fans are invited to join to club for this day of giving back. Volunteers will receive special access to a Buy One, Get One ticket offer to Sounders' Bruce Lee Match on May 29!
Spring Market at Wing Luke Museum
Join us as we celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month with the Wing Luke Museum at the annual Spring Market! On Saturday, May 25, fans will be granted free admission to the museum when wearing Sounders FC gear to explore the exhibits and Spring Market. Wing Luke visitors on Sounders Day will also be entered to win an autographed Bruce Lee Kit, and have access to a special Sounders FC ticket offer for the Bruce Lee Match on May 29.
Celebrate on Matchday
We’re closing out the month’s festivities with our Bruce Lee Match when the Rave Green take on Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, May 29. Working with Wing Luke Museum and Bruce Lee Foundation, we will be celebrating the AANHPI community with AANHPI-owned food vendors for fans to shop from, a pop-up exhibit by Wing Luke Museum and more!
