RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC has signed forward Kevin Parsemain, the club announced today. Per Major League Soccer and club policy, terms were not disclosed.
“Kevin is a technically clean striker with a nose for the goal,” said Sporting Director Chris Henderson. “He is a proven goal scorer for Martinique and we expect that to translate in MLS. We are looking forward to seeing Kevin debut for the Rave Green soon.”
Parsemain, 26, co-led Sounders FC with three goals in the 2014 preseason, starting four of six appearances with 248 minutes played. A native of Martinique, Parsemain has played professionally since 2004, including stints with Le Mans B and Evian in France. He most recently played for Riviere-Pilote in the Martinique first division.
Parsemain is one of Martinique’s leading goal scorers at the international level. He started three matches with one goal as the team’s captain for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, including the 1-0 win over Canada at CenturyLink Field on July 7, 2013. He scored 11 goals in six games in the 2012 Caribbean Cup Qualification and added two goals in the 2013 Caribbean Cup.
Sounders FC hosts the Columbus Crew on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field.
