Sounders FC midfielder/forward Nelson Valdez took to social media on Sunday night to shoot down lingering rumors that he was on the move to a South American club, insisting that's not headed out of Seattle anytime soon.
Valdez has been linked to a potential move to two Colombian sides in recent days, with Indepiendente Medellin reportedly leading the charge to land the Paraguayan international. Valdez joined the Sounders as a Designated Player last August and, despite battling injuries that limited some of his minutes after his arrival, scored one goal in seven regular-apperarances and added another in three postseason games.
Valdez will be among the players reporting for preseason later this week, with the team traveling to Tucson for the Desert Diamond Friendlies in the first week of February.
