CONCACAF announced the winners of its third annual CONCACAF Awards on Friday, honoring the best players in North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Seattle Sounders stars Clint Dempsey and Román Torres were both on the short list, with Dempsey up for Male Player of the Year and Torres among the nominees for Best XI.

Torres' standout year for both club and country earned him a spot on the CONCACAF Male Best XI for 2015. The Panamanian national team captain led Los Canaleros to a third-place finish at last summer's Gold Cup before he was added to the Sounders roster as a discovery signing in August.
The 29-year-old center back started in four matches for the Rave Green before sustaining a season-ending ACL injury. With his successful recovery well underway, he is poised to return to the squad in 2016.
