The Sounders exploded to a 3-0 lead over the LA Galaxy in the first 45 minutes at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., on Sunday thanks to goals from Clint Dempsey and Jordan Morris and own goal from Ashley Cole.
Dempsey opened the scoring in the 29th minute off a header, Cole deflected a goal into his own net in the 35th and then Morris finished a beautiful passing sequence from Jordy Delem, Nicolas Lodeiro and Dempsey in the 44th.
