Just weeks after returning to action for the Seattle Sounders, forward Clint Dempsey made a big impression in his first match back with the U.S. men's national team.
Dempsey, who was sidelined late in 2016 with an irregular heartbeat, scored a hat trick in the USMNT's decisive 6-0 win over Honduras in FIFA World Cup Qualifying. Heading into the match - a virtual must-win for the squad - Dempsey said he was still working on his match fitness, but he wasted no time getting his name back on the scoresheet.
U.S. Soccer caught up with Deuce to talk about his journey back to competitive play and his plans moving forward with both the Sounders and the national team.
