Major League Soccer has nominated Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei for Week 6 Save of the Week after his diving stop on San Jose Earthquakes forward Marco Ureña.
The Earthquakes whipped in a cross from the left side to Chris Wondolowski, who was perpendicular to goal. Wondo one-timed a pass in the air to Ureña, who struck a wonderful volley that seemed destined for the far corner. But Frei dove full extension to his left and parried it out for a corner kick to keep the score level.
Sounders midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro is also up for Week 6 AT&T Goal of the Week for his golazo against San Jose.
