You can take DeAndre Yedlin out of Seattle, but you can’t take the Seattle out of DeAndre Yedlin.
At his first training session in London with Tottenham Hotspur, Yedlin was spotted wearing green footwear and the No. 12 on his jacket. That number is, of course, significant to the city of Seattle and the Seahawks.
Born and raised in the Emerald City, Yedlin was honored at a Seahawks preseason game in August for his performance at the FIFA World Cup. He raised the 12 Flag and also threw out the first pitch at a Mariners game one month earlier.
Sporting the No. 12, the former Sounders FC right back took to the pitch on Wednesday and scored a goal in his first training session with his new team.
Now that he has started training, Yedlin is eyeing his debut for the Barclays Premier League club. Tottenham has three leagues matches, two Capital One Cup games, and one FA Cup match remaining in January.
He may be wearing a different uniform in a different country, but as Sounders FC’s first Homegrown Player, Yedlin has shown he will never stop representing his hometown.
