Seattle Sounders midfielder Andreas Ivanschitz has been named to the MLS Team of the Week after picking up two assists in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union at CenturyLink Field.
Ivanschitz earned assists on both Sounders goals, bringing his current 2016 total to three. In the 41st minute, Ivanschitz delivered a corner kick in to defender Chad Marshall, who easily headed the ball to the back post, picking up his second goal of the season. The Austrian midfielder got in on the action again in the 71st minute, who set a long ball up to Jordan Morris, who tallied his first MLS goal since signing with the team in January.
This is the third-straight week that a Sounder has landed on MLS Team of the Week. Last week, Marshall's heroic performance on the road earned him a nod, while Osvaldo Alonso picked up his first honor of the year for his standout performance against the Montreal Impact on April 2.
