Head Coach Brian Schmetzer unveils his first starting lineup of the 2022 season for tonight's match against Honduran side Motagua (6:00 p.m. PT; FS2, TUDN, 1090 KJR AM) in the Round of 16 in the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League. Here is the Delta Starting XI:
Lineup Notes:
- New Designated Player Albert Rusnák makes his official Sounders FC debut after joining the club in the offseason. He starts on the right side of the Rave Green's 4-2-3-1 formation.
- Homegrown Player Obed Vargas, 16, gets the start in midfield alongside Cristian Roldan. This marks his second start for the First Team after making his debut against Austin FC during the 2021 MLS regular season.
- In addition to Rusnák, the Sounders open the campaign with a front four that includes Jordan Morris, Nicolás Lodeiro (C) and Raúl Ruidíaz.
