The Seattle Sounders are almost a certain lock to reach the Western Conference Championship after their decisive win on Sunday night over FC Dallas, according to ESPN.
The Sounders hold a 94 percent chance of advancing past Dallas when the two teams close their series on Nov. 6, according to a projection from the ESPN Soccer Power Index. The Sounders won the first leg in commanding fashion on Sunday night behind three goals in an eight-minute span and a second consecutive postseason shutout.
The Sounders have reached the conference championship twice in their history - 2012 and 2014 - and would potentially host the first leg of the series at CenturyLink Field in late November against either the Colorado Rapids or LA Galaxy if they can get past Dallas.
