Ahead of the 2019 Major League Soccer season, Goalnamed four Seattle Sounders to its list of the top 50 players in MLS.
Goal ranked midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro No. 7, forward Raúl Ruidíaz No. 10, midfielder Cristian Roldan No. 37 and defender Chad Marshall No. 47. LA Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimović took home the No. 1 spot, with D.C. United forward Wayne Rooney, LAFC forward Carlos Vela, Atlanta United forward Josef Martínez and Atlanta United midfielder Pity Martínez rounding out the top five.
Lodeiro has racked up 36 assists since signing in summer 2016, the most in MLS in that time. Ruidíaz scored 10 goals in 13 starts after signing last summer and had an additional three goals in two postseason matches. Roldan started all 34 matches last season and had a career-high nine assists, while continuing to solidify his spot with the United States national team. Marshall was a finalist for 2018 MLS Defender of the Year and was named to his fourth MLS Best XI.
