Gustav Svensson, Sweden prepare for pivotal Group F finale in 2018 FIFA World Cup

Gustav Svensson Sweden defeat South Korea 2018-06-18

Gustav Svensson and Sweden face Group F leaders Mexico on Wednesday, June 27 at 7 a.m. PT at Ekaterinburg Arena in Ekaterinburg, Russia,  needing a two-goal win to guarantee progression to the Knockout Round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Sweden are currently tied with Germany with three points apiece heading in the Group F finale with the reigning World Cup champions facing South Korea.

Sweden were just minutes away from tying Germany 1-1 and positioning themselves favorably, but Germany's Toni Kroos curled home the game-winning goal for the Germans, leaving plenty of drama to be had in Group F heading into Wednesday's matches.

Sweden and Mexico have faced each other only once before at a World Cup with the European side prevailing 3-0 in their opening group stage match in 1958.
