Clint Dempsey opened the scoring in the U.S. Men's National Team's match against Costa Rica on Tuesday night and naturally, a few folks noticed. While it was a PK, there was a big reason to celebrate the goal: not only was it the USMNT's first goal of the tournament, it was Dempsey's 50th career international goal, putting him just seven goals behind Landon Donovan, who holds the current record.
