Following the club's 2-0 win over Minnesota on Saturday night, Seattle Sounders midfielder João Paulo earned a spot on the Team of the Matchday bench for Matchday 20.
The Brazilian has a track record of consistently shutting down the Loons whenever the Sounders face off against the Midwest side. On Saturday night, he showcased exactly that, supporting the team to its second home victory of the season with his efforts on both sides of the pitch. João Paulo registered six chances created and completed 98 of his 111 pass attempts, all while winning seven interceptions.
The Sounders return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Texas to take on Houston Dynamo (5:30 p.m. PT; Watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360AM).
