SEATTLE, WASH. – Forward Justin Dhillon today was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 31 after recording two goals and one assist in Tacoma Defiance’s 4-1 road win over Fresno FC on Saturday. Forward Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez was named to the Team of the Week bench after recording a goal and an assist in the victory.
Dhillon scored his first goal of the evening in the 31st minute on a pass from Jesse Daley. He displayed some brilliant footwork before curling a ball into the left side of the goal to give Tacoma a 1-0 advantage. The forward completed his brace in the 64th minute off a feed from Ocampo-Chavez to make it 2-0. Danny Leyva sent a ball into the area which Ocampo-Chavez headed to the foot of Dhillon who finished for his team-leading 12th goal of the season.
Ocampo-Chavez and Dhillon connected for a second time in the 69th minute to push Tacoma’s lead to 3-0. Dhillon carried a ball into the area and sent a pass to the center of the box for Ocampo-Chavez, who blasted a shot past the Fresno FC goalkeeper for his sixth goal of the 2019 campaign.
Tacoma Defiance next hosts Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, October 12 at Cheney Stadium (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+). The club then travels to face New Mexico United on Wednesday, October 16 (6:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
