For the next edition of Sounders FC Classics on May 30, presented by WaFd Bank, the club will be re-airing Kasey Keller’s final MLS regular season match at CenturyLink Field.
A local product and United States Men’s National Team legend, Keller spent three seasons with the Rave Green before retiring from professional soccer. it was a fitting sendoff for Keller, whose multi-save sequence in the 65th minute with the team down 1-0 to the San Jose Earthquakes kept the team in the match, which they eventually won 2-1. At the conclusion of the regular season campaign, Keller earned Save of the Year for his heroics against San Jose, as well as MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.
Keller’s final match finished just two points behind the 2009 MLS inaugural match for the Vintage Week edition of Sounders FC Classics.
