Sounders FC is back on the field after a weekend off from MLS action and Head Coach Sigi Schmid made just one change to the lineup that posted a 4-2 win over Chivas USA on Sept. 3 at the StubHub Center. That alteration was reinserting Gonzalo Pineda into the midfield in exchange for two-goal scorer Andy Rose.
Stefan Frei will start in goal in the clash against Real Salt Lake at CenturyLink Field behind a back four of DeAndre Yedlin on the right, Leo Gonzalez on the left and a central pair of Chad Marshall and Zach Scott.
In the midfield, Pineda will start alongside Osvaldo Alonso in the middle with Brad Evans on the right and Lamar Neagle on the left. At forward, Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins look to continue their rampant pace with six goals and four assists on Seattle’s current three-game winning streak.
Kickoff for Friday’s match is 7:30 pm PT with live national television coverage on NBC Sports Network.
