Major League Soccer has nominated Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris for Week 21 Goal of the Week for his well-earned goal against the Houston Dynamo in 1-0 road win on Saturday.
With the match scoreless in the 59th minute, midfielder Harry Shipp delivered a ball into the center of the area, where it was mis-cleared by defender Kiki Struna and sent high into the air. Morris gathered underneath the ball, and while Houston's AJ DeLaGarza ended up flying over Morris' shoulders, the ball took two bounces and Morris knocked it over Struna and towards goal, then chased the loose ball and tapped it into the far corner of the net.
Didn't follow all that? Totally understandable.
The goal was Morris' fifth of the season and gave the Rave Green three crucial points. The Sounders are now in second place in a tightly-contested Western Conference, which features a difference of just eight points between second place and ninth place.
Seattle returns to action on Sunday against Sporting KC at CenturyLink Field (7:00 p.m. PT; FS1, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM | TICKETS).
