Major League Soccer on Monday named Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro and defender Kim Kee-hee to the Week 21 Team of the Week for their efforts in a 2-0 win over Cascadia rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday. MLS also named midfielder Cristian Roldan to the Team of the Week bench.
Lodeiro recorded a first-half brace — he now has three goals in his last two matches — to stake the Sounders to a lead they would never relinquish. Kim helped anchor a back line that limited the Whitecaps to just two shots on target in a shutout. Roldan finished with 89-percent passing accuracy and a team-leading three tackles.
The Sounders are right back at it on Wednesday when they visit the San Jose Earthquakes (7:30 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
