BALTIMORE – Sounders FC wrapped up the first day of the MLS SuperDraft on Thursday by using the 15th pick in the second round on Zach Mathers, a versatile four-year starter in the midfield at Duke.
Mathers scored 14 goals and added 18 assists for Duke in his 71 appearances over four years. He scored eight goals and added eight assists during his senior year with the Blue Devils and was named the All-ACC First Team after earning Third Team honors as a junior and sophomore.
