Referee Jair Marrufo will be the head official for the Seattle Sounders’ home match against Toronto FC on Saturday (12 p.m. PT; ESPN, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS), the Professional Referee Organization announced on Tuesday. He will be joined by assistants Frank Anderson and Adam Garner and fourth official Baboucarr Jallow.
Marrufo has officiated more than 200 Major League Soccer matches in his 15-plus year career. He was the 2008 MLS Referee of the Year and has refereed two MLS Cup Finals (2006, ’15).
Marrufo officiated the Sounders’ 2-2 draw against the Montreal Impact in Week 2. He issued two yellow cards, both to the Impact.
