- Head Coach Brian Schmetzer makes eight changes from the Sounders' Round One, Leg 2 Concacaf Champions Cup win over Antigua GFC with Stefan Frei, Nouhou, Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, Obed Vargas, Albert Rusnák, Cristian Roldan, Paul Rothrock, and Georgi Minoungou replacing Andrew Thomas, Alex Roldan, Jackson Ragen, João Paulo, Pedro de la Vega, Danny Leyva, Jesús Ferreira, and Paul Arriola.
- With a goal tonight, Jordan Morris will break the club's all-time scoring record with 87 goals across all competitions.
- Sounders FC has signed Tacoma Defiance midfielder Kalani Kossa-Rienzi to a short-term loan, making him eligible for Saturday's MLS contest at Real Salt Lake.
- Seattle and Real Salt Lake have met 36 times in the regular season since the Rave Green joined MLS in 2009. Sounders FC trails the series 13-16-7, going 0-1-1 against the Utah side last year.
