Seattle Sounders Homegrown midfielder Henry Wingo out with a sprained ankle

Homegrown midfielder Henry Wingo sprained his ankle last Friday prior to the Seattle Sounders’ 1-0 weekend loss to Toronto FC, head coach Brian Schmetzer said on Monday.

Wingo was not on the 18-man matchday roster against TFC, and Schmetzer called Wingo’s process to recovery “not good.” Schmetzer said Wingo will not be traveling with the team to its upcoming road matches at the Chicago Fire on Saturday (6 p.m. PT; ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM) or at Sporting Kansas City the following Wednesday.

Wingo, 21, has made seven appearances so far this season.
