After back-to-back wins the last two weeks, the Seattle Sounders are rising in the latest media installments of MLS Power Rankings.
The Sounders are No. 7 on SI.com (No. 10 last week), No. 7 on ESPN.com (No. 10) and No. 9 on MLSSoccer.com (No. 10).
Seattle has been on a tear since Brian Schmetzer took over as interim head coach in late July, going 5-1-3 in his nine games in charge. The Sounders are three points out of a postseason spot in the Western Conference, but have two games in hand on the two teams above them.
The Sounders host the Chicago Fire on Wednesday night at CenturyLink Field (7:30 p.m.; JOE tv, ROOT Sports outside Seattle, KIRO 97.1FM, El Rey 1360AM) before heading to Vancouver to face the Whitecaps on Sunday.
