SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 today announced the signing of goalkeeper Daniel Faundez. Per club policy, additional terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
Most recently playing in goal for Bellevue College in the Northwest Athletic Conference, Faundez notched four shutouts and 50 saves as a freshman in 2014.
Faundez played for Chilean side Everton de Viña del Mar in the club’s development academy. He trained with the organization for three years and holds both American and Chilean citizenship.
S2 (11-8-3, 36 points) is set to face Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (12-7-3, 39 points) at 1:00 p.m. PT today at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila as part of a Sounders double-header. Sounders FC follows USL action in Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League play this evening against CD Olimpia at CenturyLink Field, with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. PT.
