SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC today unveiled its full schedule for the 2016 preseason presented by adidas, including camps in Tucson and Mt. San Antonio College in Southern California. Currently the club is scheduled to play five preseason matches, including three Desert Friendlies in Arizona and two fixtures while in camp at Mt. SAC.
The club’s first day of preparations for the 2016 season is being held on Friday, January 22 at the club’s Starfire Sports training facility in Tukwila. Specific training times and media access windows will be announced at a later date.
After less than a week of training at Starfire Sports, Sigi Schmid’s club heads down to Tucson, Arizona for two weeks of training from January 28 – February 10. While in Tucson, the Rave Green are set to play a pair of Desert Friendlies, two matches against Cascadia rivals Vancouver Whitecaps FC (February 3) and Portland Timbers (February 6). Sounders FC is also set to take on Mexican side Celaya on February 9 in Tucson to prepare for the club’s 2015-2016 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinal matchup with Club America. The club then travels to Southern California for a six-day camp at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California from February 13-18. Sounders FC is currently scheduled to play friendly matches on February 14 against a yet-to-be-determined opponent and on February 17 against the LA Galaxy. Times and locations for those friendlies will be released at a later date.
Sounders FC begins its eighth MLS campaign on Tuesday, February 23 against Liga MX power Club America in the SCCL Quarterfinal Round on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. 2016 Sounders FC season ticket packages, which include the Club America fixture, are currently available for as low as $24 per match are available here, or by calling 877-MLS-GOAL.
