TULSA, OKLA. - Sounders FC 2 (9-17-4, 31 points) came up short in a 1-0 loss to Tulsa Roughnecks FC (14-13-4, 46 points) on Saturday evening at ONEOK Stadium. Currently in 12th place in the Western Conference, S2 continues its three-match road trip to close the campaign. The next fixture is against Swope Park Rangers on October 11 (5:30 p.m. PT / Live-streamed on SoundersFC.com).

S2 had a few early chances courtesy of Cameroonian forward Felix Chenkam, including an opportunity when he freed himself at the top of the area but his shot drifted wide of the frame. Midfielder Zach Mathers nearly scored when his free-kick struck the crossbar.

The lone goal of the match came on a quick counter in the 14th minute, with Tulsa goalkeeper Fabián Cerda sending a deep through-ball to Joey Calistri, who dribbled down the left flank before sending a cross to the far post where Christian Thierjung knocked it in from close range.

Just before halftime, fortunes turned in favor of Seattle, though, when Tulsa’s Collin Fernandez was issued his second yellow card and forced the host side to play down a man for the second half.

Despite the man advantage for the remaining 45 minutes and outshooting Tulsa 16-9, S2 was unable to find the back of the net for the second consecutive match. Of note, midfielder Ray Saari played 90 minutes in his return from being sidelined with a concussion.

Ezra Hendrickson's side continues its three-match road trip on October 11 against Swope Park Rangers. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. PT and is set to be live-streamed on SoundersFC.com.
