Seattle Sounders FC today announced activities surrounding the club’s home match this Saturday against Houston Dynamo FC (7:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM). Presented by matchday sponsor Regence BlueShield – who joined Sounders FC in a multi-year partnership announced earlier this week – the game celebrates RAVE Foundation, Sounders FC’s charitable partner that works alongside the club to Defend the Right to Play. Defending the right to play – with an emphasis on improving health outcomes for youth and the community – is one of the four tenets of Sounders FC’s official Social Justice Framework, which serves as the strategy screen the guides the club’s consistent actions, investments and impacts.

Saturday’s match features a wide variety of special activities highlighting the importance of free play and physical activity and the work being done in the community by RAVE Foundation, Sounders FC and Regence to support these efforts.

To date, RAVE has invested 15 fields in communities throughout Washington as part of its 26 Fields by 2026 initiative aimed at building 26 fields for free play in time for the FIFA World Cup 2026. To help RAVE as the organization moves toward that goal, Sounders FC is donating $1 to RAVE Foundation for every seat filled at Saturday’s match.

Outside the stadium before the game, fans can stop by Occidental Square Park from 5:00-6:30 p.m. PT to enjoy SoundCheck, Sounders FC’s free pre-match programming held ahead of select home matches. SoundCheck provides free entertainment and activities for all ages in a festive, party-like atmosphere, including live music, food trucks, appearances by Sammy the Sounder and giveaways. This Saturday’s edition of SoundCheck includes music by Daniel Pak, a singer, songwriter, producer and member of the Asian Hall of Fame. The featured food truck is Sam Choy’s Poke To The Max.

Stadium gates open at 6:00 p.m. PT on Saturday and fans wishing to take part in the Emerald City Supporters’ official March to Match are encouraged to join in as SoundCheck wraps up, with the march departing Occidental Square Park at 6:30 p.m. PT on its way to the stadium.

For fans arriving to the game and enjoying the atmosphere outside of Lumen Field before entering, School of Rock Seattle’s House Band is performing a special pre-match concert near the stadium’s southwest gate on Occidental Avenue from 6:00-7:30 p.m. PT. The House Band ensemble from School of Rock Seattle is comprised of talented young musicians that perform as a high-caliber, family-friendly cover band throughout the greater Seattle area and beyond.

Those looking for further pregame action outside of the stadium can stop by Victory Hall, the event space located across from T-Mobile Park. From 5:00-7:00 p.m. PT, Victory Hall is offering food and drink specials to fans wearing Sounders FC gear. There will also be a performance by SoundWave, special giveaways and more.

Sounders FC encourages fans to utilize transit and alternative forms of transportation to attend matches. For those arriving by bicycle, a complimentary bike valet program presented by Providence is available, as Providence extends its green initiatives through its partnership with Sounders FC. As part of Providence’s vision of health for a better world, it is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in an effort to become carbon negative. Across the health system, Providence is making meaningful changes that have reduced emissions by 11.5 percent per year, compared to its 2019 baseline. More about Providence’s commitment to environmental stewardship and progress can be found here

The bike valet program is available at all of Sounders FC’s MLS regular-season matches through September 1. Located on Occidental Avenue near the north parking lot of the stadium, bicycles can be parked with the bike valet – operated by Cascade Bicycle Club – starting two hours before kickoff and must be claimed no later than one hour after the final whistle.

Fans are reminded that Sounders FC is partnering with CLEAR again this season to help entry into Lumen Field go quickly and smoothly. Just download the free CLEAR App, sign up and then enter through designated CLEAR lanes located at the northwest gates.

The first 14,000 fans entering the stadium can nab a free Sounders FC x Regence co-branded rally towel, courtesy of Regence.

Once in the stadium, fans can enjoy the continuation of Sounders FC’s BIPOC and diverse-owned food truck and pop-up restaurants, presented by First & Goal Inc. and Levy. Curated by Intentionalist, these local small businesses align with Sounders FC’s social impact and cultural calendar, giving fans the opportunity to discover new culinary delights with food trucks in Lumen Field’s North Plaza and a pop-up restaurant location in Lumen Field’s PNW Marketplace concessions area, located in the east concourse outside of Section 113.

Saturday’s featured North Plaza food trucks are El Cabrito, offering made-from-scratch Oaxacan recipes, and Dat Creole Soul, giving fans a tase of Cajun cuisine.

The PNW Marketplace features Umami Kushi, specializing in okazu pan and other classic Japanese fare, and OHSUN Banchan Deli and Café, serving bold Korean flavors with seasonal inspiration from the Pacific Northwest.

In the North Plaza, fans are invited to visit the Regence Wall of Heroes. During the Defend the Right to Play match, RAVE Foundation is celebrating its heroes – advocates for free play in underserved communities. On the Wall of Heroes, fans can add the name of their own personal heroes to pay respect to the advocates and champions in their lives. Former Sounder and current club Brand Ambassador Brad Evans will be present at the Wall of Heroes from 6:00-6:30 p.m. PT to meet fans and talk about the installation.

Additionally stationed in this area is Get a Ball, Give a Ball, presented by Regence. For a donation of $20.26 – a nod to RAVE Foundation’s goal to give 100,000 soccer balls to underserved youth by 2026 – fans receive their own high-quality RAVE Foundation soccer ball while a second ball is given to a child in need through RAVE programming.

The North Plaza is also home to the Bud Light Zone, which features tailgate games and activities including giant Jenga, Connect 4 and more fun for guests of all ages.

At Lumen Field’s Cityside Bar, fans can partake in Tequila Herradura Happy Hour from 6:00-7:30 p.m. PT, where $9 Tequila Herradura Sounderitas are available, as well as lawn games and the opportunity to enter to win unique prizes.

Throughout the stadium, fans can explore and participate in a wide variety of activities, which on Saturday include:

•    The Providence Challenge – Fans can test their soccer and mental skills through three different activities at The Providence Challenge, as well as having the opportunity to take the Providence Pledge to promise to better their mental health. All participating fans will be entered to win an autographed Sounders FC jersey or a pair of tickets to an upcoming home match.

•    Crossbar Challenge, Presented by Western Washington Toyota Dealers – The first five fans to hit the crossbar in this interactive skills challenge earn a chance to take a kick on-field at halftime. If a fan hits a crossbar at halftime, Western Washington Toyota Dealers donates $1,000 to RAVE Foundation.

•    Sounders Penalty Kick – A digital activation where fans get five chances to score a goal against a virtual goalkeeper.

•    Soccer Skee-ball – This activation allows fans to play a soccer-themed version of Skee-Ball, kicking a ball down a ramp, rather than rolling it, in order to score as many points as possible.

•    Soccer Billiards – Fans can play a soccer-themed version of pool, challenging a partner and kicking colored soccer balls into the oversized pool table pockets before their opponent does.

•    RAVE 2026 Kick Experience – Learn about RAVE Foundation’s 26 Fields by 2026 campaign and attempt to kick a soccer ball through a hole.

•    FIFA Gaming Station – Challenge an opponent to a friendly match of FIFA ’23.

•    Lumen Lens – This augmented reality photobooth places fans in photos with their favorite players.

•    Sit & Soccer – A one-on-one table soccer game where fans attempt to outscore their opponent.

•    Scarves Up! Photo Activation – Raise a scarf and recreate the club’s iconic matchday moment in this new photobooth.

•    Sounders ‘Til I Die Instagram Wall – Themed photo opportunity for fans to grab the perfect social media shot.

In the Lumen Field Pro Shop, fans can find the newly released Captain America-themed warmup tops, designed in a collaboration between MLS, adidas and Marvel. These tops are being worn pregame by teams across the league at select matches. On Saturday, RAVE Foundation is holding an online matchday auction of Sounders FC’s player-worn Captain America warmup tops. The auction opens on Friday and closes at the end of halftime on Saturday, with proceeds benefiting RAVE Foundation fields and programs. Fans can access the auction at Sounders.GiveSmart.com.

Ahead of kickoff, RAVE Foundation celebrates 12 of its community heroes who advocate for free play in their communities with on-field recognition.

To acknowledge a burgeoning partnership between RAVE Foundation and The Residency that serves local youth through visual and performing arts, Saturday’s national anthem is being performed by The Residency artist, TahJae Shante. The Residency is an experiential arts education program and training ground for aspiring young artists from low-income backgrounds, launched in 2015 as a collaboration between Seattle’s MoPOP, Arts Corps and Grammy Award-winning artists Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

The “Scarves Up!” moment this weekend is being led by Jose Manuel Vasquez, Todd Cowles and Jennifer Molina, three trustees from the RAVE Foundation Board of Directors. These volunteers work tirelessly to lead RAVE’s mission to build small fields for free play and use soccer as a vehicle to inspire youth and strengthen communities throughout Washington.

At halftime, amplifying RAVE’s 26 Fields by 2026 initiative is a special entertainment feature called 26v2. In this crowd-pleasing activation, 26 youth representing 26 individual RAVE communities and target communities will scrimmage on the pitch against Sounders FC alums Brad Evans and James Riley, with the scrimmage refereed by another former Sounder and RAVE Foundation board member, Lamar Neagle. Sponsored by SeattleFWC26 – the local organizing committee that is bringing the FIFA World Cup to life in Seattle for 2026 – this halftime hilarity shows support for RAVE’s role in the FIFA World Cup 26™’s legacy commitment

Also at halftime, RAVE Foundation recognizes the foundation’s biggest community hero, Thach Nguyen. Nguyen and his network of real estate investors, Springboard to Wealth, will reach $1 million donated to RAVE by the end of 2023 and are presenting a check to RAVE to honor this incredible commitment.
