Sounders FC is committed to provide youth access to play and make Washington state the most inclusive place for gender diverse youth to play soccer in the United States. As part of this work, we hosted a soccer clinic with OL Reign and our partners at Trans Families, presented by Starbucks, for gender diverse youth and their families!
Led by former Sounders FC captain and current brand ambassador Brad Evans, as well as several current Sounders FC and OL Reign players, the youth in attendance participated in several games including a small-sided scrimmage against the players and their parents.
Off the field, members of the Emerald City Supporters and Royal Guard elevated the environment through their support and waving their iconic flags. The kids were able to try their hand at flag waving and drum banging.
Closing out the day’s events, the group came together for a question-and-answer panel with the players, followed by autographs, photos and swag bag distribution.
Thanks to RAVE foundation and our official Pride partner, Starbucks, the clinic participants went home with soccer balls and cake pops, in addition to Sounders FC merchandise!
