SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC’s second leg of the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Quarterfinals at Liga MX side Club León has been moved to Thursday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m. PT at Estadio León. The match was previously scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, following the first leg in Seattle which remains set for Tuesday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
The Rave Green defeated F.C. Motagua 5-0 on aggregate in Round of 16 action to advance to the Quarterfinals, while Club León defeated its Round of 16 opponent C.D. Guastatoya by a 3-0 aggregate score. The two sides have recent history, with Sounders FC facing the Mexican club in the 2021 Leagues Cup Final in Las Vegas that saw a narrow 3-2 Léon victory.
Seattle is competing in its seventh Concacaf Champions League tournament, which crowns the best team from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Including this year, Sounders FC has advanced to at least the Quarterfinals in five of its seven appearances, including a run to the Semifinals in 2012-2013.
