Seattle Sounders FC has waived midfielder Fabio Pereira, the team announced today.
Pereira, 22, was selected by Sounders FC with the 77th overall pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft and was signed on March 6. He made his professional debut in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup on June 18, logging 27 minutes in a 5-0 victory over PSA Elite. Pereira started two of five appearances in the MLS Reserve League, playing 349 minutes.
Sounders FC resumes MLS regular season action against the LA Galaxy on Monday, July 28. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field.
