Major League Soccer nominated Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei for Week 29 Save of the Week, the league announced on Monday. You can vote here.
Frei stonewalled LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos on a breakaway to keep the Sounders’ deficit at one in a game Seattle would go on to win 4-2. Robbie Keane fed dos Santos on a brilliant through ball behind the Sounders’ high back line and the Mexican international had a clear chance on goal.
Frei recorded seven saves on the afternoon, but none bigger than that as the Sounders earned a crucial three points on the road and continue their postseason push.
MLS named Sounders forward Jordan Morris and midfielder Osvaldo Alonso to Week 29’s Team of the Week, as well as nominated each of them for Goal of the Week.
