PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2017 (Malmö FF): In his final season with Malmö, Eikrem started four of 15 league appearances as the club won its second-consecutive league title with 64 points (19-4-7), seven points clear of second place. His lone goal of the season came as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Jönköpings Södra IF (July 22). He also appeared in both matches against FK Vardar in the second round of UEFA Champions League qualifying, with Malmo falling 4-2 on aggregate, as well as one substitute appearance in the Swedish Cup.

2016 (Malmö FF): Eikrem made 23 appearances, starting 19, as Malmö won the 2016 league title with 66 points (21-6-3). The midfielder recorded four goals, including game-winners against Hammarby (May 16) and AIK (August 7). He also started four of five appearances and scored one goal in Malmö’s second-place run in the Swedish Cup.

2015 (Malmö FF): In his first campaign in the Swedish top division with Malmö FF, Eikrem started 22 of 28 appearances and scored a career-high seven goals in league play, leading the club to a fifth-place finish with 54 points (15-6-9). He recorded a brace in back-to-back games, a 3-1 win over Helsingborg (May 3) and a 2-2 draw with Elfsborg (May 15). He also scored three goals in four starts in the 2014-2015 Svenska Cupen (Swedish Cup), in addition to three starts in seven appearances in the 2015-2016 UEFA Champions League in which Malmö advanced to the Group Stage.

2014-2015 (Cardiff City): In his second and final season with Cardiff City, Eikrem made three appearances in English Championship league play. He also started two his two appearances in the League Cup.

2013-2014 (Cardiff City): After moving to Cardiff City of the English topflight, Eikrem made six appearances in Premier League play, making one start, as the Welsh side was relegated with a last-place finish. Eikrem also started his two appearances in the 2013-2014 FA Cup.

2013-2014 (Heerenveen): In his lone season with Dutch side SC Heerenveen, Eikrem started 10 of 13 league appearances as Heerenveen finished fifth in the Eredivisie with 57 points (16-9-9). He scored goals in a 3-3 draw with Ajax (August 23) and a 3-3 draw with Roda JC Kerkrade (September 21). Additionally, he made three appearances (one start) in the 2013-2013 KNVB Cup. 

2013 (Molde FK): In his final season with hometown side Molde FK, Eikrem started all 13 of his appearances, scoring goals in a 4-1 win against Aalesunds FK (May 9) and 4-0 win against Honefoss BK (May 25). Molde failed to retain its title, instead finishing sixth with 44 points (12-10-8). He also scored a Norwegian Cup appearance against IL Hodd. He also started all four appearances and scored one goal in the 2012-2013 UEFA Champions League, with Molde falling in the third round of qualifying.

2012 (Molde FK): Eikrem helped Molde to its second-consecutive league title in 2012, starting 26 of 27 league appearances as the club finished atop the table with 62 points (19-6-5). He also started three of four appearances, scoring one goal, as Molde was eliminated in the semifinals of the 2012 Norwegian Cup. He also started all six appearances and scored one goal in the Europa League as Molde advanced to the Group Stage.

2011 (Molde FK): After signing with Molde FK of the Eliteserien – the Norwegian topflight – Eikrem started 26 of 28 appearances and helped lead his hometown side to its first ever league championship. Molde finished the 2011 campaign atop the table with 58 points (17-6-7). Eikrem scored four goals, including a brace in a 2-2 draw with SK Brann (September 11), as well as another tally in the Norwegian Cup, where he started one of his two appearances.

2006-2010 (Manchester United): After playing for Molde’s academy as a youth player, Eikrem was signed by Manchester United when he was 16. He was a regular contributor for United’s U-18 side before making a number of appearances in the Premier Reserve League from 2008-2010.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Eikrem has 17 caps for the Norwegian National Team, including six appearances in qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He also received international call-ups in the youth ranks, most notably scoring two goals in six games in the 2013 UEFA U-21 Championships in Israel, where Norway fell to Spain in the Semifinals.

PERSONAL

Eikrem is the son of Knut Hallvard Eikrem, who had an extensive career for FK Molde from 1983-1990. Like fellow Sounder Jordan Morris, the Norwegian midfielder plays professional soccer with Type One Diabetes.
