By the way things looked on Saturday night, you wouldn’t have ever guessed that Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins hadn’t played together since May 31. In their first match back together, it was back to the Deuce and Oba show as the two connected on both goals and powered the Rave Green to a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC. The opening goal, pounded in by none other than the Goal Machine himself, came in the fifth minute after a crafty lofted pass from Dempsey.
Oba managed to stay onside which would put him one-on-one with Chris Konopka where he would net his 11th goal of the season. The opening goal is now up for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week.
