It was a banner year for Stefan Frei. The Sounders FC goalkeeper set personal bests (10 shutouts, 111 saves and 33 goals conceded) during the regular season and came up big as the Sounders made a push in the team's seventh-consecutive playoff apperance. The Swiss shotstopper had a league-leading five MLS Save of the Week wins and two of his biggest are still in contention for MLS Save of the Year accolades.
Frei's first came in Week 13 against the New York Red Bulls at home on May 31. The save kept New York's scoreline at one and the Sounders ultimately came back to win the match 2-1.
His second nomination came in a Rivalry Week matchup against the Portland Timbers. Frei kept Portland at bay, making five big saves in the match to help his team to the 2-1 victory, including this first-half save against Lucas Melano.
Round two of voting is now open and you have until Nov. 18 to make your choices. Unfortunately, you'll have to make a tough decision, as Frei's saves are pitted against one another on the bracket.
