Seattle Sounders center back Chad Marshall was named to MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week on Monday after his last-second heroics over the weekend lifted the club to a tough road point in Houston.
Marshall scored the equalizing goal of the Sounders’ 1-1 draw against the Dynamo in the 94th minute, his first MLS regular season goal since May 3, 2014. It was the sixth time in franchise history the Sounders have scored a goal after the 94th minute, but the first time since Oct. 2014.
Marshall also finished with eight interceptions, three clearances and a block in the win. He becomes the second Sounders player to make the Team of the Week this year, following midfielder Osvaldo Alonso’s selection last week.
