The Seattle Sounders weren't the only winners on Saturday afternoon.
In honor of the team's Give BIG match celebrating the kickoff of the Seattle Foundation's day of annual giving supporting local nonprofits, Sounders Owner Adrian Hanauer pledged that the team would donate $5,000 for each goal scored and an additional $5,000 for a shutout. With Jordan Morris' third straight goal in as many games, his charity of choice, JDRF, will receive a donation on behalf of the team and The Adrian Hanuer Foundation.
Stefan Frei also put in a solid shift, securing his second clean sheet of 2016 with four saves. His efforts will be honored with a donation to Urban Artworks, which focuses on empowering youth and invigorating communities through public art.
The Sounders will host the kickoff for Give BIG on Tuesday morning at The NINETY. The Seattle Foundation has set a goal of raising $20 million for the area's nonprofit organizations, and you can schedule a donation now and learn more about the programs that are participating in this year's event.
