Seattle Sounders FC return home on Saturday after two road matches to host Real Salt Lake and all fans are encouraged to arrive early to the 2:00PM kickoff as we will be celebrating Military Appreciation both before and during the match.
Our can't-miss pre-game ceremony will feature 130 service members all in uniform presenting the U.S. flag, branch star banners representing the six branches, SFC shield, banner and 22 U.S. flags on poles behind the starting XI.
Master-at-arms 1st Class Nicole McDonald will be performing the national anthem after which two Boeing Growlers will be flying over CenturyLink Field. The flyover is being conducted by Navy VAQ-129 squadron from Whidbey Island and pending the timing we will honor the air crew at halftime of the match.
The match ball will be delivered by Shawn, Fay and Gracie Marceau, a Gold Star Family who lost their son Lance Corporal Joe M. Jackson in Afghanistan in 2011.
Be sure to arrive early on Saturday to take part in Military Appreciation Day!
