Seattle Sounders’ Jordan Morris starts at forward for United States against Costa Rica in Gold Cup semifinal

Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris will start up front for the United States national team against Costa Rica on Saturday (7 p.m. PT; FS1, Univision) in the semifinals of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.


Morris will earn his 21st cap and start alongside Jozy Altidore, the first time the duo will start together since a 1-0 win against Canada on Feb, 5, 2016. Morris recorded a brace against Martinique in the second group stage match earlier in the tournament.


Fellow Sounders forward Clint Dempsey begins on the bench after starting and recording an assist against El Salvador in the quarterfinals.
