SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC announced today that it has released defender Jordan McCrary. McCrary started 13 of his 20 appearances for Sounders FC across all competitions last season, his lone campaign with the club.

“We would like to thank Jordan for his contributions in Seattle,” said Sounders FC General Manager & President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey. “Jordan was a true professional during his time with us and we wish him nothing but success on his next career step.”

McCrary, 25, started nine of his 15 MLS regular-season appearances for Seattle after signing with the club prior to the 2018 season. He also started and played a full 90 minutes in all four of Seattle’s matches in 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Play, in addition to a substitute appearance in the second leg of the 2018 Western Conference Semifinals vs. Portland.

Seattle's 2019 MLS season begins on Saturday, March 2, as the Rave Green host expansion side FC Cincinnati in a 7:00 p.m. PT match set to be nationally televised on FS1.

TRANSACTION: Sounders FC waives defender Jordan McCrary on February 26, 2019.
