With Sounders FC’s 2020 preseason camp currently in full swing in Mexico City, the Rave Green announced today that they are hosting their annual club Media Day on Friday, February 28 at CenturyLink Field, beginning at 10:45 a.m. PT with a pre-training brunch and press conference. Additionally, the club is hosting its second annual Media Match inside CenturyLink Field that afternoon, with all media members able to RSVP to play in a full-sided match on the stadium field. Following a successful inaugural contest in 2019, the Media Match includes personalized adidas uniforms for all members of the press that confirm their participation with Sounders FC Communications. Further information about the Media Match, including RSVP details, is being released later today.
Photographers and videographers are free to capture still images and b-roll throughout the morning practice, and all media members are welcome to observe the all-access training session. Multiple players are being made available for interviews at the conclusion of training, and brunch is being served prior to the session inside CenturyLink Field’s Southwest Loft surrounding a press conference featuring Sounders FC leadership – including General Manager & President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey, Head Coach Brian Schmetzer and Vice President of Soccer & Sporting Director Chris Henderson. After the press conference, accredited members of the media are able to attend the training session, conduct field-side player interviews and claim their 2020 MLS season credentials and media packets.
Members of the press wishing to attend Media Day and claim their 2020 season credentials should RSVP with a member of Sounders FC's Communications Department. Parking is being provided to those media members who RSVP. As a reminder, 2020 season-long media credential applications must be submitted by the assigning editor and be accompanied by a headshot before the deadline of Wednesday, February 12 at 3:00 p.m. PT. Accredited members of the media wishing to obtain season-long access throughout 2020 may apply via SoundersFC.com/Credentials.
RSVPs are also required for the club’s Media Match to ensure proper uniform sizing and personalized jerseys. Further information on the Media Match is being distributed later today.
