Concacaf Champions Cup

Tournament Overview

The Concacaf Champions Cup (formerly the Champions League) is North America’s premier club competition, featuring top teams from MLS, Liga MX, and other regional leagues. The tournament crowns the best club in the region and grants qualifications to the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup. In 2022, the Sounders made history by becoming the first MLS club to win the tournament, an achievement we look to repeat in 2025.

Format

  • Tournament starts with 27 teams: 11 groups of two teams, five pre-seeded
  • Home-and-away aggregate scoring through the semifinals
  • The final is a single-match showdown

  • Round One: Sounders FC has been drawn against Guatemalan club Antigua GFC
    • Leg One: Sounders FC at Antigua GFC on February 19 (Estadio Pensativo)
    • Leg Two: Sounders FC vs. Antigua GFC on February 26 (Lumen Field)
  • Round of 16 Begins: March 4-13
  • Quarter Final: April 1-10
  • Semifinals: April 22-May 1
  • Final: June 1

How to Get Tickets

The first home match, on February 26th is included in your 2025 Alliance Membership as your 18th match. All additional matches will be a part of our Pay As We Play Program.

FIFA Club World Cup

Tournament Overview

The FIFA Club World Cup brings together the top club teams from every continent to determine the best team in the world. Sounders FC is one of two MLS teams who have qualified and will represent North America on the global stage, competing against elite clubs from Europe, South America, and beyond.

  • Expanded tournament with 32 teams (new format begins in 2025)

The tournament will run from June 15 – July 13 of this year.

Leagues Cup

Tournament Overview

The Leagues Cup is a groundbreaking tournament that features all MLS and Liga MX teams competing in a month-long, World Cup-style competition. Since its launch, it has quickly become a must-watch event, delivering epic matchups between the best teams from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Format

  • 36 participating clubs - 18 MLS (9 clubs from each MLS conference) & 18 Liga MX clubs.
    • Sounders FC qualified for Leagues Cup via 2024 MLS Regular Season standings.
  • The 36 clubs are divided into two leagues of 18 teams, with MLS teams exclusively playing Liga MX opponents during league play.
  • Top 4 clubs from each league move on to QF Round.
  • The two finalists and the winner of the third-place match will all qualify for the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

U.S. Open Cup

Tournament Overview

The U.S. Open Cup is the longest-running soccer tournament in the United States, dating back to 1914. Featuring clubs from every level of American soccer, this knockout tournament is famous for its upsets and underdog stories. Based on MLS selection criteria, Tacoma Defiance will take part in U.S. Open Cup in 2025.
