Following the club's 1-1 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night, Seattle Sounders midfielder Albert Rusnák was named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Matchday bench for Matchday 6.
Rusnák scored the Sounders’ lone goal of the night with an impeccable strike from inside the eighteen-yard-box. After receiving the ball from midfielder Cristian Roldan, Rusnák drove centrally into open space where he laced the ball past San Jose goalkeeper Daniel and into the left side of the net in the 80th minute.
Along with Rusnák’s second-half goal, the Slovak international finished the night with the most chances (5) in the match, a passing accuracy of 92%, four recoveries and two duels won.
The Sounders return to action on April 5 when they visit San Diego FC at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday night (7:30 p.m. PT; Watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV).
