On Monday afternoon, Osvaldo Alonso received news he’s waited eight years to hear.
Alonso announced via Twitter that his father will be traveling to the United States to visit after obtaining his visa. The Sounders midfielder, who has played with the club since 2009, left the Cuban National team back in 2007 while playing in the Gold Cup.
Earlier this season, Alonso revealed that he intended to travel back to Cuba this offseason now that stringent travel restrictions between his home country and the United States have been relaxed.
