As part of the club’s Purpose Beyond the Pitch initiative, Sounders FC is proud to announce a donation of up to $50,000 from the first 30 days of jersey sales from the Salish Sea Kit to organizations dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of tribal communities and protecting the Salish Sea’s unique ecosystem.
These funds will be thoughtfully invested to:
- Support youth education and arts programs celebrating the traditions of Washington state's tribal communities.
- Advance conservation efforts to protect and restore the health of the Salish Sea.
- Provide meaningful educational and soccer-centric experiences for tribal youth.
These investments will be made in collaboration with:
- The Burke Museum in support of the Artist Studio in the Northwest Native Art Gallery which serves as a space for visiting artists to create new pieces and interact with visitors.
- Potlatch Fund in support of youth development and Native arts education.
- Puget Soundkeeper in support of stopping the flow of toxic pollution, microplastics and other marine debris into the Puget Sound.
- Seattle Aquarium in support of their work to inspire conservation of our marine environment.
- RAVE Foundation, Sounders FC’s charitable arm, to support engagement with the three tribal schools representing our collaborating artists.
Through these initiatives, Sounders FC aims to honor the interconnectedness of our region's people and environment, creating a legacy that uplifts communities and inspires stewardship of the Salish Sea. The Salish Sea Kit is available now at Sounders FC Pro Shop Locations and MLSstore.com.
