FORM GUIDE (all competitions, most recent first): Seattle: DDLLW, San Diego: WLDWD

PREVIOUS MEETING: This is the first meeting between the two clubs. San Diego FC is in its inaugural MLS season as the 30th franchise in the league.

ROAD TRIP CONTINUES: The Sounders head back to California on Saturday after their 1-1 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes last week. This is the second of three consecutive road matches for Seattle, with the club heading to Texas to take on FC Dallas on April 12.

HE’S HERE, HE’S THERE, HE’S EVERYWHERE: Seattle on Monday announced the signing of English winger Ryan Kent, who joined as a free agent after most recently plying his trade for Turkish giants Fenerbahçe. The 28-year-old is a product of the Liverpool Academy and spent the majority of his career with storied Scottish club Rangers.

RUSNÁK DELIVERING: Sounders Designated Player Albert Rusnák rescued a late point last weekend in San Jose, and the Slovakian is playing right at his pace he set last year of 10 goals and 16 assists in over 2,500 minutes. So far in 2025, the Slovakian has two goals and three assists in just over 500 minutes.

TIKI-TAKA: Both San Diego and Seattle love to possess the ball and control rhythm and tempo. The two clubs are first and second in the league, respectively, in completed passes.

MARQUEE SIGNING: Much like fellow Southern California clubs LAFC and the LA Galaxy did with Carlos Vela and Chicharito, respectively, San Diego landed prized Mexican international Chucky Lozano. The 29-year-old Pachuca product has 18 goals in 70 caps with El Tri and is one of the most talented players in Concacaf.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Anders Dreyer, M

The Danish international has hit the ground running in his first season in MLS. Dreyer, 28, joined from Belgian side Anderlecht and has three goals and an assist in the opening six matches. He’s also third in MLS in Key Passes with 20.
