Seattle Sounders midfielder Osvaldo Alonso has been named to the MLS Team of the Week following his performance in the team’s 1-0 win over the Montreal Impact on Saturday at CenturyLink Field.
Alonso started and logged 90 minutes in the Sounders’ first win of the season, and completed 66 of 71 passes in the game. He also had nine tackles, three interceptions and led all players in the game with 92 touches.
This is the first time a Sounders player has been named to MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week this season. The Sounders return to action on the road at the Houston Dynamo on Sunday (1 p.m. PT; ESPN).
