FORM GUIDE (most recent first): Seattle: WLWWD, Dallas: LWWDL

ALL-TIME HISTORY: The Sounders are 12-7-6 all-time against FCD, including a 9-1-1 mark at home.

PREVIOUS MEETING: The Seattle Sounders fell 2-1 to Dallas at Toyota Stadium on June 1. After a lengthy weather delay, the hosts came flying out of the gates, controlling the match and testing Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei. That pressure paid off in the 33rd minute, as center back Xavier Arreaga inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear the ball. Seattle’s fortunes turned from bad to worse just six minutes later, with Brad Smith’s attempted clearance deflecting past Frei for the second own goal of the half. The Sounders managed to pull one back through Raúl Ruidíaz in the 65th minute but were unable to complete the comeback.

BREATHING ROOM: With notable wins over the Portland Timbers, LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls in their back pocket, the Sounders have started to pull away from the rest of the pack in the Western Conference playoff race.

FORTUNE FAVORS THE BOLD: Seattle’s massive victory over the New York Red Bulls on Sunday was made even sweeter by the results around MLS, as FC Dallas, the Timbers and San Jose Earthquakes all dropped points.

WE MÍSSED YOU, TVR: Seattle Sounders winger Víctor Rodríguez made his first appearance since July 6 due to injury, entering the 4-2 win over New York in the 66th minute. The dynamic wide player made an immediate impact, as he forced an own goal in the 83rd minute to give Seattle a 3-2 lead.

JORDAN MORRIS THIS, JORDAN MORRIS THAT: Jordan Morris is in the best form of his young professional career. With a goal and an assist against New York, which earned him a spot on the MLS Week 28 Team of the Week, the Sounders Homegrown now has nine goals and seven assists on the season.

REVENGE GAME: Seattle’s loss at Dallas was certainly disappointing, but it came during a stretch of the season where the roster was hampered by international call-ups. Add in the fact that both of FCD’s goals came via deflections from Sounders defenders, and the matchup on Wednesday is primed for the Rave Green to exact revenge.

HIGH-CLASS PROBLEMS: Now that the Sounders roster is nearing full health, Head Coach Brian Schmetzer has a plethora of options for putting together his starting XI, let alone his 18-man matchday roster.

LODEIR100: If Seattle Sounders midfielder and team captain Nicolás Lodeiro starts the match on Wednesday, it will be his 100th regular season start since joining the club midway through 2016.
