Easily the most crucial early call of the Seattle Sounders’ matchup against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday came in the 9th minute, when head referee Mark Geiger whistled for a Whitecaps penalty kick after a foul on Sounders defender Joevin Jones.

‘Caps midfielder Christian Bolaños went down on the play after he was apparently tripped up by Jones inside the box, and ‘Caps captain Pedro Morales (above) promptly buried the ensuing PK to stake the ‘Caps to a 1-0 lead.
